This was my first Terri Clark concert -- and it was, by far, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Terri is a great live performer! I highly recommend one of her shows to anyone -- even if you're not a big fan of her music, you will be by the end of the night!
I went to the concert with my dad. I heard that Terri was coming to Soaring Eagle about a week and a half before the show. As soon as I heard, I went out an bought the tickets the following day. Dad and I ended up with great seats. We were in the fourth row of tables (equivalent to 10-15 rows back), which was on a platform so we were able to see over the heads of everyone in front of us. Our table was also on the right aisle so we had a clear shot to take pictures of Terri while she performed. I used my digital camera and ended up taking about 200 pictures! Of those 200, about 90 of those were sharp, clear shots -- which I'm going to share with you below.
Terri sang all of her big hits and popular songs from all four of her CDs, plus a few special songs. Her set ran a solid hour-and-a-half, including the encores. Aside from playing an electric and acoustic guitar (and a rip, roarin' cowbell), Terri also told hilarious stories (about her grandma and Britney Spears nightmares, among others) and told the background to some songs. I didn't realize what an incredible guitar player Terri was. She can play everything from country to rock to blues to bluegrass. And Terri doesn't just strum rhythm guitar either -- she plays intricate lead licks and can carry an acoustic tune by herself. Totally incredible!

One of the funniest parts of the show was when Kevin, one of Terri's band members dropped his Dobro during the Bluegrass Set. Right in the middle of "Sweet Heart of Mine" the strap slipped off the base of the Dobro and it went crashing to the stage! Of course Terri and her other band members, along with the audience started cracking up. Terri was laughing so hard that she had trouble finishing the song. She never stopped playing, but would sing a few words and them break into laughter again. The drop couldn't have been too good for the Dobro, although Kevin picked it up and continued playing on it.
Terri even wrote about this Soaring Eagle show in her on-line journal at www.terri-clark.com! Here's what she had to say . . .
As I write this journal entry, I am sitting in a motel room, that will NEVER be mistaken for the Ritz Carlton. I swear , if people only knew just how UN-glamorous this can be sometimes, they would be amazed. They have a phone, and cable, which is good, but the water is brown, which is bad. Good thing we aren't staying overnight, I am afraid of what might be in the bed. We stayed at the nicest resort/casino in Michigan. It's called the " Soaring Eagle". I swear it is the best we have ever been treated at a Casino, and we loved it. Kevin dropped his dobro during the bluegrass segment, and it made the loudest CRASH !. I turned around to see him standing there with the combination of shock, and bewilderment on his face. I couldn't finish the song, as I was laughing too hard to sing, and Robbie was left hanging on a few notes, when I quit in the middle of a line. All in all, it was a fun show, and I would go back there in a second.

Listen to a live acoustic performance of Terri's hit "No Fear" from FanFair 2000. I found this clip at www.country.com, under Terri's artist profile. I recorded the vocal parts from the video supplied -- the song is recorded in .wav format.
I think that's about everything I have to say about the show. If you have any questions or want to know more about the concert/pictures, e-mail me at croivic@yahoo.com.

Some of the pictures that are a bit grainy (and closer pictures of Terri) were taken of the large video screens on either side of the stage.
